in the eminent firm of Fardine, Matheson, &C., (of which the head is Mr Jardine now M.P. for Dumfries), and he represented that firm

in this matter. As Mr. Johnson is now in England, the firm is at this date (Iline 1884) represented at Hongkong by another Senior Partner, Mr. Keswick,

who is an
